Job Description:
PubMatic is hiring a senior algorithms engineer who can analyze terabytes of data and billions of rows to discover correlations and patterns that empowers PubMatic Optimization Technology. Typical candidates for this role would have developed data mining algorithms using huge datasets and also built large scale data processing/analytics systems incorporating them. This is a fairly hands-on role for someone who has dealt with large amounts of sparse data and who would enjoy working with a team of very smart engineers.
Job Functions:
- Develop extensible, scalable, reliable software for high volume, real-time data processing and ad serving.
- Research and implement data mining and machine learning algorithms using grid computing and affect the product direction.
- Provide project leadership to the team, in terms of communication, project follow-ups, project schedule,etc.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- BS / MS in computer science/mathematics/ related fields (preferably with emphasis in data mining / machine learning / artificial intelligence / OR)
- 4+ years experience in server side development of complex systems
- Good experience implementing data mining and machine learning algorithms and analyzing large volume of data
- Solid programming skills with several years of software development experience using Java/ C/C++ on Linux and SaaS
- Good knowledge of database systems and working knowledge of MySQL
- Experience in leading projects, making schedules, resolving conflicts, etc.
- Experience with perl / php / javascript is desirable.
- Experience with Hadoop/ Hive is highly desirable.
- Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent analytical skills.
