Escalation Engineer

At PubMatic we are developing:
* Optimization algorithms for online advertisements
* Decision support system for data analytics
* Analysis of real time data, such as user behavior and web analytics
* Server scalability to support 100,000,000 requests per day (to start with)
* Database design for enhancing scalability and performance of our database, which will have millions of rows of customer data
* Data Mining
* Algorithms for solving complex computational problems
We need programmers, designers and testers with the enthusiasm and zeal to solve problems and work in a startup environment, and are fun loving.
Position: Escalation Engineer
We need engineers who can understand problems in our products and can do initial analysis, in most cases solve the problem right-away. The escalation engineer will directly interact with the support, product management and the engineering. He or she may have to funnel some of the problems from the support to the engineering. The escalation engineer will have to understand how the engineering solves these problems, and then solve it next time a similar problem comes his or her way.
Location: Pune
Responsibilities include:
* Clarify, analyze and develop solutions to complex technical problems.
* Identify alternative course of action, sets appropriate priorities and identifies creative and practical solutions.
* Recommend, document and present technical resolution action plans
Required skills are:
* Excellent problem solving skills.
* Working experience in Linux/UNIX environment, MySQL, Java/C, HTML and JavaScript is a requirement.
* Experience in PHP will be an additional benifit.
* Demonstrated ability to self direct and work independently.
* Demonstrated teamwork.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Working knowledge of Tomcat and Apache.
Qualifications:
* 3-7 years of work experience in relevant field.
* BS/MS/BCS/MCS/BCS/MCA in Computer Science or equivalent.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
