Product Manager
Position: Product ManagerLocation: Palo Alto, CA
Job Description:
The Product Manager's role is to plan and deliver key product components throughout the product lifecycle. This position requires intensive interaction with key ad serving components of the PubMatic product footprint. Therefore, the successful candidate will likely come from a company that develops technology solutions for the online advertising industry such as an ad server provider or ad network. As part of the Product Management group, the Product Manager will work closely with customers, user interface designers, developers, and QA engineers to ensure that product goals are met. Key activities include:
- Define the product strategy and roadmap for different PubMatic components based on customer interaction, industry analyst input, competitive dynamics, and other inputs
- Articulate and demonstrate the value of the components and their fit to the overall product strategy
- Effectively collaborate with business, marketing and technical teams to develop requirements, prioritize enhancements and drive features to completion
- Develop a functional understanding of the key technological and architectural basis of the PubMatic product
- Meticulously think through every aspect of the user experience, putting users' needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements
- Aggressively identify opportunities for improvement, and incorporate new product features into PubMatic on an ongoing basis
- Exceptional technical abilities and ability to work with engineers
- Technical knowledge of Internet-related industries such as Internet advertising or search
- Understanding of platforms and business issues, or the ability to quickly learn
- Ability to develop and understand a “big picture” view of the online advertising industry as well as the ability to drill-down into detail on the components that support this view
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, cross-geography team
- Ability to maintain own work plans and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and very dynamic environment
- 4 year technical Bachelor's degree; and
- Demonstrated product management expertise with 3-5 years experience or more. This experience must be in the following areas:
- Experience with online ad operations (Required)
- Experience developing Internet, SAAS (Software As A Service) or software products (Highly desired)
- Salary commensurate with experience
