Rajeev founded PubMatic based on the belief that publishers are underserved from a technology and services perspective and set out to build a marketing automation company for publishers. The company’s mission is to help publishers maximize the value of their digital assets.
Under his leadership, the company has grown very quickly with more than 650 employees and 15 locations across the globe. The high pace of revenue and profit growth is fueled by Rajeev’s commitment to helping publishers protect, monetize and manage their most valuable asset – the relationship between consumers, content and services.
In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ad Council, a non-profit organization and the largest producer of national public service campaigns in the U.S.
Rajeev is a serial entrepreneur who has raised more than $250M+ in funding in two different eras. Before PubMatic, he co-founded Chipshot.com, a leading online retailer of custom-built golf equipment, where he served as Vice President of Technology. At Chipshot, Rajeev led product management and development, helping grow the company into a $30 million business. An experienced management consultant, he was a Principal at Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, an IT strategy consulting firm for Fortune 2000 clients, where he led teams on IT strategy engagements. Before founding PubMatic, Rajeev was a Product Marketing executive at SAP, where he was responsible for global go-to-market strategy for new products.
Rajeev holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Political Science and Spanish from The Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Silicon Valley, California with his wife and children.
Kirk McDonald is a media and technology veteran with over 20 years of professional experience with some of the world’s leading brands and software technology providers.
Kirk joined PubMatic in October 2011, bringing with him a proven track record of leadership success and experience across a range of premier media brands. As President of the company, Kirk is driving the next stage of PubMatic’s growth as the leading marketing automation software platform that powers the programmatic advertising strategy of premium publishers.
Before joining PubMatic, Kirk was President of Digital at Time Inc., where he brought together the company’s digital assets to deliver audience and brand advertising solutions to clients. Prior to this corporate role, he was the Chief Advertising Officer of the Fortune|Money Group, where he oversaw worldwide advertising sales, integrated marketing, and the events business. Kirk was also the Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Client Services for DRIVEpm and Atlas, both of which were key units of Microsoft’s advertising business. In addition, Kirk spent nine years at CNET, where he was the Senior Vice President of network sales, and developed hugely successful strategic partnerships with the top tier of technology marketers. Earlier in his career, he held sales and marketing roles at Ziff Davis and Condé Nast.
Kirk serves on several professional and not-for-profit boards including the IAB Board of Directors, the Advertising Week Advisory Council and Camp Interactive. Additionally, he was a former advisor on the LUMA Partners board.
Steve Pantelick is a seasoned industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in driving growth, strategy, and operations for leading companies such as Kodak Gallery (Ofoto), Blockbuster, Inc. and Cadbury Schweppes Plc. Prior to becoming CFO of PubMatic, Steve was the CFO of the innovative data management platform company Aggregate Knowledge.
As CFO of Ofoto/Kodak Gallery, Steve helped build one of the world's leading online digital imaging and services company, where in addition to finance, he oversaw the company's printing and customer service operations. Earlier in his career, Steve served as COO of Blockbuster Inc.'s New Media Division. Previously, Steve was the Sr. Vice President of Blockbuster's U.S. financial operations, and served as Vice President of Worldwide Planning and helped take the company public in 1999. Prior to Blockbuster, Steve spent seven years with Cadbury Schweppes, in a variety of roles in the US and Europe including, Vice President of Finance for Dr. Pepper/7Up and Planning Director for Schweppes Europe.
Steve holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and an A.B. degree from Harvard College.
Mukul Kumar co-founded PubMatic and leads the company's engineering team. Before PubMatic, Mukul was the Director of Engineering at PANTA Systems, a high-performance computing startup. Prior to PANTA, he was Senior Manager at Veritas India, joining the company as the 13th employee. He helped Veritas India grow to over 2,000 employees. Mukul has filed for 14 patents in systems software, storage software, and application software. He proudly proclaims his love for π and ability to recite it to 60 digits.
Mukul is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur with a degree in Electrical Engineering and resides in Pune, India.
Andy oversees PubMatic's system architecture, development, scalability, and engineering.
He is an Executive Committee member of the inaugural Board of Directors of the IAB Tech Lab, a nonprofit research and development consortium tasked with producing scalable technology standards and solutions for the global digital media and marketing industry.
Prior to co-founding PubMatic and becoming CTO, he was a Senior Engineer at PANTA Systems, a high performance computing startup. Anand was also a Senior Software Engineer at VERITAS India, where he worked on various storage and backup products. He has filed for three patents in systems software, storage software and application software.
Anand holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Pune in Computer Science. He lives in Silicon Valley.
Jeff Hirsch has over 30 years of management and marketing experience including over 18 years in the digital space. Hirsch has worked in both start-up and large companies, boasting significant successes at companies such as AudienceScience – where he served as CEO of the global data technology company, Fastclick – where he served as Chief Revenue Officer from start through exit, and Valueclick – where he served both pre-IPO and later as the SVP of Business Development. Earlier in his career he served as the CEO of both Inc. 500 Company, Xymox Systems, and of regional ad agency, Jeffrey Scott, Ltd. Jeff thrives on the energy inherent in fast growth environments and the challenge of building successful companies.
With over 15 years of experience in new business development, Paulina oversees strategic alliances and corporate strategy at PubMatic, serving as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development.
Paulina joined PubMatic from PayPal where she negotiated and managed strategic partnerships with Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and other large Internet and payment players, and she played a leadership role in establishing the X.commerce platform. Prior to PayPal, Paulina headed business development for BlueLithium, a leading online ad network acquired by Yahoo!. She also spent four years at AOL driving strategy, corporate development and international expansion, including the launch of AOL's Advertising.com business in Japan. Paulina started her career in investment banking and then corporate finance at Charles Schwab.
Paulina earned her undergraduate degree at the Finance Academy of Moscow and her MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
Lisa Feher joined PubMatic in August of 2012 as the company's first manager of all areas of global HR related to talent acquisition and talent management, learning and development, reward systems, employee engagement, change management, and HR operations.
With over 18 years of HR experience, Lisa comes to PubMatic from Attensity, an industry leader in social analytics, where she was global SVP of Human Resources since 2008. While at Attensity, she helped merge and integrate three companies and manage HR operations in four countries for the 350 person company. Before Attensity, she led HR at numerous high tech companies in their transformation and growth (Sistina, acquired by Red Hat and Inxight, acquired by Business Objects). Lisa started her career as a consultant with a premier boutique consulting firm delivering human resources and organizational development consulting to multi-national high-tech and manufacturing companies.
Lisa is based in the Redwood City, CA office. She has the Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) and received a Masters of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior from Silver Lake College in Wisconsin in addition to her BA in Psychology.
